Below you will find informational responses to commonly asked questions. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for please do not hesitate to get in touch.

What is the minimum age?

Our range is open to all persons aged 10+

How many people can you fit in the range?

We can accommodate up to 6 people in each of the three lanes. A total of 18 at any one time. Larger groups can be accommodated when pre-booked. Please contact us.

can i book for today?

Same day bookings are not available online. If you would like to request a booking for the same day please contact us.

can i pay on the door?

Booking on the door is possible but subject to availability. We recommend booking in advance.

Do you take a deposit?

No deposit required. Payment can be made in full on arrival. We take card and cash payments.

I cant make my session, can i reschedule?

Things come up sometimes, dont worry we can move your booking if required and subject to availability of course. Please let us know as early as you can if you cant make your session.

what if i am late to my session?

It is important to be on time for your session as you will miss the safety briefing and may disrupt others in the range during that time. We recommend you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your start time. Lateness could result in the forfeit of your session.

are spectators allowed in the range?

Members of your party that are not throwing can come in to the range where we have some benches at the back. This may not be possible at busy times. There is a covered spectators area next to the range from which you can receive cheers or boooos from your non-participating group members. There are a number of stools in the spectators area for seating.

I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A LARGE GROUP BOOKING. HOW DO I DO THAT?

No problem at all. Please use the booking request form on the book now page and simply state the number of participants in your party. We will contact you should we require any addition information, otherwise you will receive your booking confirmation promptly after submission.

Can i book the whole range for a private event?

Yes absolutely you can. For private events please contact us and we will ensure you are accommodated in every way. 

do you do food and drink?

Carbon Steel do not sell food or drink. However we are located in Beach Street which has a number of excellent food outlets serving hot and cold drinks and all the food you can handle. These Vegan options as well as a few Bars if you fancy an Alcoholic drink after your session.  

Can we arrange for a booking outside of your normal opening hours?

It is possible but please contact us with your enquiry with as much notice as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What should i wear?

The range is technically outside so please dress comfortably to suite the temperature outdoors. The range is covered to protect from rain so remains dry inside. Avoid big hanging jewellery and best to bring a hair band if you have long hair.

Can i smoke?

The range itself is a no smoking area but smoking is permitted outside of the range and in the spectators area.

Can i bring alcoholic drinks into the range?

Sorry no we cannot allow alcoholic beverages inside the range. We strongly recommend saving the consumption of alcohol until after your session has finished.

Are pets allowed in the range?

Pets are adorable but can also be unpredictable so we recommend you have a non-participating member in your group who can remain with your pet outside of the range. (exception: guide dogs)

do you have wheelchair access?

Yes, we have ground level access suitable for wheelchair users. 

can i participate if i am pregnant?

Axe throwing is not very strenuous so from our perspective we see no reason not to. However we recommend consulting your doctor/physician prior to booking.

As Felixstowe is a seaside town there is a great deal to do and see. In particular to our location at Beach Street there is Mannings Amusements Arcade next door, Lost of delicious food outlets, Bar's, Barbers, a number of independent shops, Cafe's and Coffee shops, yoga studio, and lots of events are hosted here all year round. DJ's play on Saturday nights, there's Rollerskating discos, craft fairs, Markets, a butchers and fish mongers here too at the weekends. You can really make a day of it here!
